COMBINE YOUR TO-DO LIST WITH YOUR GRATEFUL LIST FOR A HEALTHIER HOLIDAY SEASON
Combine your Lists for a more Joyful Holiday Season.
What if I told you that you can combine your to-do list with your gratitude list for a healthier holiday season that is stress free, more joyful and overall more healthy? We think of our never ending TO-DO LIST as negative but if we retool it we can be happier and healthier and you may just become Grateful for Lists!
Yes the holidays are stressful but just breathe and make another list.
Yes we forget to slow down and enjoy all of the it during this time. But take 5 minutes right now and breathe. Then quickly write down 10 things you’re grateful for. Wellness is much more than how long you run on the treadmill or how much yoga you do or saying no to that sugar cookie. Overall wellness is working on mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. We’re going to discuss how to focus on being grateful and how it can help all aspects of your wellness journey.
I have my list, now what?
Have your 10 things? Now look at those “things” and notice that these are the important things in your life. They are probably health, family, security, your faith maybe and enough food to eat. Notice that your list is probably focused on family, friends, experiences and health. Not on being stressed about getting everything perfect/done.
Combine your Lists.
This is what the holidays are about. So focus your attention to those things on your Grateful list and combine it with your TO-DO-List. Spending time with family. Donating food at the food bank. Going to church service or school holiday program. Making treats. Singing Christmas carols around town. Get your long to-do list done but combine it with your grateful list so it all mixes into a joyful way to get things done and experienced.
Do you have the Joy?
Have something on your TO-DO list you don’t find joy in? Then outsource it to a family member, an outside service or evaluate if it’s necessary at all.
Be able to View your To-Do list as a Positive!
True wellness to you is cultivating those things that you cherish and make you happy. If we start to think about the TO-DO list in a more positive/fun way, we are able to look at the positive in everything rather than something that has to be done just to cross it off the list.
